Tim Ashe is an expert marine captain, navigator and sailor. His years of seamanship and sailing experience are unequaled and when you add his personal traits of honesty, integrity and ethics there is no other person from whom we would have purchased a sailboat. In 2008 we purchased a Tartan 4300 and it has turned out to be the experience we had hoped for. We have sailed the East and West Coasts of Florida and throughout the Bahamas and, in doing so, Tim has always been available to answer any and all questions that would arise. He has gone way beyond what most brokers would do and this value added service confirms that there is no one better in the boat brokerage industry. We highly, highly recommend Tim!

Dear Tim,

I want to thank you for fitting me into my dream boat! Your guidance enabled me to help design "The Holy Grail ", as "Fresh Air", my Tartan 5300, has been referred to by bystanders and for me, best describes my love for this boat. Your encouragement and inspirational ideas enabled me to custom design a beautiful balance between function and performance. She does everything in 53 ft that a similar style 65 ft, standard, production sail boat, can do and at 1/2 the cost. You stayed on top of construction, delivery and commissioning, making sure that when she finally reached my command she was near perfect. The few loose ends that you promptly tightened up, were also much appreciated.

I have since sailed Fresh Air in all conditions, short of a gale and she exceeds all my greatest expectations! Thanks again for your professional stewardship and truly, hands on effort to satisfy me. Your love and admiration for Tartan Yachts and in my case the 5300, explains your devotion to our project. I feel blessed that our paths crossed on this "once in a life time" venture for me. I will always look forward to sailing with you again.

Sincerely, Frank Boucek on "Fresh Air"

The 3400 is an incredible boat that combines modern design and functionally that results in a boat that I have been proud to sail. The carbon fiber mast with the pocket boom and the self-tacking jib has allowed us to quickly leave the dock and be sailing in five minutes. This boat has the ability to sail in both light air and stand up when the wind pipes up. Down below the 3400 has all the creature comforts. When we enter a new marina people always say we have the best looking boat they have seen in a while. Even more important are the professionals at Tradewinds’ Yacht and Ship including Tim Ashe and Dick Booth who provide outstanding advice and service.

When it was time to move up from our Tartan 3400 to a Tartan 3700, I relied upon the advice of Tim Ashe, Dick Booth and the Tartan factory team to build my “dream” boat. The 3700 has expanded our sailing horizons with more speed, flexibility and comfort. From a commissioning and service perspective the Tradewinds’ team has been extremely professional.
